Casio is a Japanese company that is associated with a gamut of high end electronic equipment that range from musical instruments to cameras. Deciding to tap the new bridge camera market it launched a series of ergonomically designed cameras that are packed with excellent features. The latest addition to this line is the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 that stems from the Casio EX-F1 model.
Built around a 9.1 mega pixel 1/2.3 CMOS sensor with a zoom capability of 20 X equivalent to 26mm-520mm this camera delivers rich images without compromising on the quality. The most incredible feature is the fact that it is capable of shooting at 40 fps for still images and 1000 fps for video recording. The high speed movie recording feature allows you to capture at 1000, 420 or 210 fps. The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 bridge camera also features the unique capability of shifting from 30 fps to 210 fps even when recording at a mere push of a button. The maximum image size it can capture is 3456 x 2592 for images and 1280 x 720 for HD movie recording at 30 fps. A number of coloured filters are built into the camera to allow you create more dramatic images without using Adobe Photoshop. The image stabilisation mode is a remarkable feature that uses CCD shift to capture clear blur-free pictures. The ISO ranges from 64 to 1600 while the shutter speed varies from 1 to 1/2000 of a second. It is equipped with a large 3 inch super clear TFT colour LCD that enables you to view images of recordings in marvellous detail. Another great addition is that the flash intensity can be tweaked depending on the amount of light requirement. Like many other cameras this too has the smile detection technology along with the best shot mode that optimises the exposure and the focus letting you capture exceptional images in vivid detail. Though switching back from the best shot mode can be quite taxing as the dedicated button for this does not switch off after a push of a button.
All in all the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 might look like any other bridge camera but the incorporation of user-friendly techniques and the powerful lens mounted on the camera render this a cut above the rest.
