Due to the unusual digital SLR type design and the protruding barrel styled lens featured on the Casio Exilim Pro EX-P505 it is difficult to imagine that it is actually very small in size. Capable of being hidden completely by a large chunky phone this hybrid camera is able to shoot extended video clips in a high quality format.

This palm sized camera sports a polycarbonate exterior and has a 5 mega pixel CCD sensor at its core that is capable of taking remarkably detailed images. The Casio Exilim Pro EX-P505 bridge camera has a 5x optical zoom and an 8x digital zoom that combined together gives you a tremendous 40x zoom capability. The 2 inch TFT lens at the back is capable rotating giving you more freedom to frame more dramatic shots and has a maximum pixel resolution of 85k. It features 3 auto focus modes and a macro focus mode that allows you to close in as near as 0.4 cm. It comes pre-loaded with 22 different best shot settings that assist you in taking the finest photos possible. The outer ring of the lens is covered with a 43mm threading that allows you to attach various filters like the UV filter. The ISO ranges from 50 to 400 while the shutter speed varies from 60 seconds to 1/2000 of a second. It comes equipped with a built in exposure compensation function and a ND filter that reduces the excessive light by +/- 2 EV. The MPEG 4 technology onboard enables you to record high quality video in a 640 x 480 resolution at 30 fps and store it in the most minimum space. The pop up flash features a brightness correct function that ensures that optimum light falls on the subject. What is exciting about the camera is the four different types of movie recording modes it has, from the normal mode and the best shot mode to the past movie and short movie mode. The downside of the Casio camera is its plastic body and the lack of an optical viewfinder nonetheless the Casio Exilim Pro EX-P505 is an excellent semi-pro camera that gives us an idea of what the camera might be a few years down the line.
