The SP-510UZ bridge camera from Olympus is a solid and strong camera. The 10x zoom cameras from Olympus have seen a slow but steady growth and the SP-510 is the latest in this range. This is an ideal bridge camera which bridges the features of a compact as well as an digital SLR camera in a perfect manner.

This camera comes in a silver colour and feels solid and chunky to hold. It is powered by AA batteries and produces an output of 630 photographs from a single batch, which is quite impressive. Though initially handling the Olympus SP-510 ultra zoom may be tough, with practice it becomes easier. The attractive graphic interface however is not so easily navigable. Another slight problem is that the quality of pictures while excellent with low ISOs, lacks in depth with higher ISOs. The noise reduction feature scales down the sharpness of the picture as with many other similar models in the market.

This camera is not equipped with an image stabilizer which is another drawback. Long range shots are not very sharp without the image stabilization feature. The SP-510 comes with 21 MB internal memory storage. Storage enhancement is not possible as the camera is not compatible with memory cards.

This camera surprisingly is offered at different prices in different locations. If you shop around and get the best deal, it is certainly worth the effort. As compared to similar models, the camera offers quite a bit of advantages if purchased at the right price.
