The Nikon D40X comes with an addition of interesting features including the advanced ten mega pixel unit. The continuous shooting frame rate has been raised to 3.0 fps from 2.5 fps making it necessary for the device to use the dual readout. Base sensitivity of ISO 100 is also lower.
Nikon D40X equipped with lenses with their own driver motor including the AF-S and AF-I lenses can auto focus as it does not come with a focus drive motor built in. Other important features in this Nikon DSLR camera include the settings/status screens adaptable to the new LCD monitor, no status LCD, unlimited 3.0 fps continuous shooting in JPEG, 100 to 16—plus ISO sensitivity, three area multi-CAM530 AF sensor, sensor of 420 pixels, Matrix Metering II in 3D colour, Nikon engine for Image processing, view finder view that is larger, etc.
This camera comes with a viewfinder blackout and shutter lag that is shorter than the previous models. The device also supports SDHC and SD cards of 2GB and more capacity. Retouching features in built in the camera include the facility to overlay image, take small picture, filter effects, to monochrome, trimming, reducing the Red-eye effect, highlight enhancement and shadow with the help of D-lighting, etc. The camera supports mass storage and comes with a PTP and USB 2.0.
Nikon D40X is light in weight and is compact and easy to carry around. Menu interface is improved making it more user-friendly. The Nikon D40X is powered by the latest Lithium-Ion battery model EN-EL9. The kit lens used is the AF-S DX 18-55mm new “Version II”.
