Japanese camera manufacturer Olympus is definitely not satisfied with the conventional camera design so it goes on to introduce the four-thirds system in partnership with Kodak. This concept not only ensures a reduction in camera size but also enables the light to directly hit the sensor which consequently results in richer and more accurate photos. The Olympus E-1 Body features the world’s first digital exchangeable lens structure.
The body is constructed using a magnesium alloy that makes it extremely durable and yet very light. It features a 5.5 mega pixel FT-CCD sensor with a progressive scan function that allows you to capture more surface area. This in turn provides richer images with a higher dynamic range and a greater signal to noise proportion. The trademark supersonic wave filter has been incorporated into the camera that removes the dust particles that usually accumulate from constant use and degrade the camera performance. The Olympus E-1 cameraa also features a unique combination of auto focus and manual focus that allows you to make finer changes in the focus. The unique placement of the optical viewfinder at eye-level delivers a 100 percent frame vision that in turn allows you to frame pictures precisely. It also features a dedicated button to preview the depth of field which is a rather great feature. The upgraded auto white balance system has 12 preset WB settings with a hybrid identification system. It has a 1.8 inch TFT LCD made of poly-silicon with a maximum pixel resolution of 134k. The ISO range of the Olympus camera varies from 100 to 800 which can further be boosted to 1800 or 3200. Many new upgrades have gone into the camera like the inclusion of the Neo-Lumi-Micron Matte II Focusing Screen and a deformed hexagonal micro-prism. These new additions dramatically reduce the moiré effect and deliver more dynamic photos with negligible aberrations.
The Olympus E-1 Body is beyond any doubt a 100 percent digital camera that incorporates revolutionary new features which will definitely have the professionals hankering for more.
