With large dimensions of 129.5 x 91 x 53mm and weighing about 375g, the Olympus E-400 is an extremely compact and easy to carry digital SLR camera with removable lens system that is also technically competent. It has an easy detailed display mode that is convenient to operate and a 10 mega pixel CCD sensor which gives quality image and SSWF strong dust protection system.
The single-lens view finder of Olympus E-400 is of eye-level and offers 95% range of view and other features such as aperture, battery check, shutter speed, exposure, white balance and metering. Images recorded as DPOF, JPEG, Exif2.2, PIM III can be seen through the 2.5” HyperCrystal LCD with brightness adjustment. Image playback choices such as zoom, slide show, index, histogram and calendar are available. The camera’s built-in flash has automatic and manual selection.
There is also the red-eye reduction, x3, slow syncro, fill-in and off. You have both automatic and manual selection for focus. The ISO sensitivity ranges in automatic is between 100 and1600 and 100-1600 in manual, which is the same as other popular models like the Olympus E-410 body. Overcast, sunlight, tungsten, shade and fluorescent x3 are some of the E-400’s modes in manual and preset white balance. The Olympus DSLR camera has exposure modes such as shutter, scene, manual, aperture, automatic, programme, and auto.
You also have varied scene modes which can be pre-selected for a particular situation such as underwater, fireworks, portrait, children, night, landscape, macro, image stabilization, sports, and beach and snow. The Olympus Master Software facilitates for easy download, organization, editing and printing from a computer.
