The Olympus E-600 is a digital SLR camera ready to be launched in the market very soon. It is a lower-cost version of the E-620 model that was launched by Olympus in February 2009. In order to reduce the cost and provide some distinction, a couple of changes have been made to the previous model. But the Olympus E-600 is considered to include every feature required to help both a beginner to SLR photography and a professional photographer in taking flawless pictures.
The brand new Olympus camera features an effective resolution of 13.1 Megapixels from a CMOS-Chip image sensor. The ISO sensitivity of the digital SLR ranges from 200-3200 equivalents and is controlled automatically or manually. It accepts four Thirds mount lenses and has a built-in Flash as well. The exposure modes included in the camera include Program Auto, Aperture- and Shutter-priority and a fully manual mode. For helping the beginners, the camera comes with a generous eighteen scene modes and a Scene Program AE mode that automatically selects from a subset of five scene modes.
With the Olympus E-600, images are metered by using the Olympus’ 49-point Digital ESP multi-pattern metering which also offers center-weighted and 2% spot options. The shutter speeds of the camera ranges from 1/4000 to 60 seconds and has a bulb mode as well, that allows exposures as long as thirty minutes. The memory cards compatible with the Olympus E-600 camera include CompactFlash Typ I (CF Typ I), CompactFlash Typ II (CF Typ II) and xD-Picture Card (XD). One of the major highlights of the digital SLR camera is the Supersonic Wave Filter dust reduction system which keeps the image sensor safe from the effects of dust and other such particles.
