The Pentax K200D DSLR digital camera weighs approximately 680 g and is so small that it fits right inside your pocket. The Pentax K200D is an entry level digital SLR for those who want to experiment with photography. The DSLR camera has a lot of appeal with its right hand grip that curves nicely so holding it in your hand with out any further support is possible. The Pentax corporation is serious about medium format DSLR cameras, and this model is a manifestation of the company’s desire. The Pentax K200D has been provided with dust and water resistant seals that help protect all the sockets and connections so no dust or water can get into them.
Being an entry level model the camera has a single control wheel. A double wheel would have been preferable as the chances of adjusting the shutter accidentally is more likely and a double wheel would help prevent that from happening. The Pentax K200D body’s single wheel, as a default, alters the shutter speed and unless the exposure compensation button is held down the wheel will not adjust the aperture.
There is an Fn button that provides quick access to common shooting modes. There is no Live View feature as is available in most other digital cameras that have hit the market lately. With no Live View option, users cannot compose images on their screen before they shoot a photograph. The Pentax DSLR camera is fitted with a 2.7 inch TFT colour LCD screen which offers 230,000 colour resolutions.
