Adding another camera to its consumer-level DSLR range, Sony Corp. has announced its DSLR-A550 based around new CMOS sensors and add a manual focus confirmation live view mode using the main imaging sensor. These features are in addition to Sony’s secondary-sensor Quick AF live view system. Equipped with better noise reduction, the camera includes an Auto HDR mode and offer sensitivity of up to ISO 12800. The 14.2 mega pixels A550 has a high resolution 921k dot 3 inch tilt-angle LCD screen that allows the Sony Alpha DSLR camera to capture incredible details. Its Quick Auto Focus Live View is good for composing shots in the LCD monitor while Manual Focus Check Live View allows critical focus in macro and tripod shooting.
Equipped for dual media slots for memory stick PRO Duo/Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo and SD/SDHC media, the camera has Auto HDR (High Dynamic Range) and captures more scene contrast than a single exposure can handle by combining two exposures into one shot. Suitable for photography enthusiasts, the Sony Alpha 550 body (DSLR-A550) is versatile and has a superb response of up to 7 fps of continuous shooting. Capable of gorgeous enlargements, its Sony Exmor CMOS image sensor ensures state-of-the-art response. The large, APS-C format means high sensitivity and powerful depth-of-focus control. Low in noise levels, the camera has a BIONZ image processor with chroma noise reduction that reduces noise all the way up to ISO 12800, without compromising on resolution. Also, you can compose shots in the LCD monitor, just as you would with a point-and-shoot camera.
