The essence of Halloween photography lies in spooky and dramatic frames. There endless subjects to click during Halloween season but most interesting ones come out of capturing some thrilling and horrifying subjects. So why not imbibe the Halloween drama and spirit in your images. Here are a few tips to capture some exciting subjects and adding that extra punch to your shot.
Go black and white- If you want to add drama to you frames and bring out the spooky flavor then nothing works better than black and white because the grey tones that are achieved are unconsciously related to ghosts, spirits and horror. So to make your frames interesting, either use a black and white film or saturate your digital pictures after clicking them. Otherwise your actual photography equipment does not make a large difference, and a cheap camera like the Fisher-Price kid-Tough can take scary pictures if the setting is right. Moreover, black and white will exaggerate the negativity and horror in your picture. Look at the picture on your left for instance. Take close ups- Take tight close ups to communicate a feeling of distress and create an ambiance of tension and horror. Fill the frame with your subjects and capture contrived close up look to convey a dramatic and unpleasant look.
Find fresh angles to click- images clicked form unusual angles can add that extra punch to your frame. Look at the image on your right from instance, the top angle shot is giving it a very striking appeal that is a little scary as well as spooky.
Trust me the art of getting out the dramatic look from those cute little innocent kids dressed as Dracula lies in the hands of the photographer. So go and explore the dark realm.
