• The most basic requirement in firework photography is an SLR camera, a tripod, a cable release, a long & effective lens. These are a must for capturing phenomenal fireworks.

• A photographer needs patience in this field, as you’re unaware of exactly when the fireworks will explode. The photographer should wait for the right explosion and composition.

• If you want a sharp and accurate image then for that you should keep your camera device still, and for that purpose nothing is better than a tripod.

• The firework reflections give a realistic effect to your images, so for that you can apply waterfront settings.

• Whenever you include landmarks, cityscapes or people in your shot they will appear as silhouettes in the image. It is a fact however, that these silhouettes will add to the context of your shot.

• The shutter must be utilized cleverly while taking shots and the way to use it is to open the shutter, wait for the explosion and then close the shutter. This is the key to capturing some excellent photographs.
