One of the most common types of photography is group photography. It happens everywhere from college, wedding functions to office occasions or school, etc. Everyday thousands of group photographs are taken. Group photography requires proper composition and framing of the subject. Below are some steps that will help you in getting your desired shot:
1. Location: It’s the place where the group will sit or stand. The location should compliment the group. For example a group photograph of a sports team should have their playing field in the background rather than a wall. It’s also important to take the picture from a higher level than the group, so that everyone is included. For large groups this might even necessitate using a ladder, like the Hailo 9312-501. Choose a location, where there is enough light to take the picture. Also avoid setting up a group directly in front of a window in order to avoid the reflecting flash light.
2. Take multiple shots: take multiple shots of the group to get the best shot.
3. Use close-up: Try to get close to the group keeping in mind the composition. The closer you can get the more detailed picture you will get.
4. Timing: timing is most important in group shots. You should pick the moment for your shot carefully.
5. Light: In order to get details in subjects use sufficient amount light. Lighting gives clarity to your pictures.
Group photography solely depends on good composition. The photographer should be experienced it’s very difficult to give commands to groups.
