Night time has always had a sense of mystery and peace to itself. Capturing the night environment can be quite an interesting yet difficult task. Nighttime gives some of the most amazing pictures but it is no novice’s work. Night photography requires the right kind of equipment and a lot of experience to capture the right image on your film. The reason why night photography is thought to be so tricky is because of very low light and extremely low shutter speed. However these very factors help to get some of the most remarkable pictures if you take care of certain tips.

Always carry a tripod- getting a perfect picture in night photography is almost impossible without a tripod, unless you have an extremely steady hand. Since with the sun hidden, light sources at night are really low, hence one has to keep the shutter speed extremely low to provide the right exposure and capture all the elements in your frame. Since the shutter speed in night photography is low, the lights and moving objects in the frame come blurred, like in the picture above.
Carry a camera lens with high aperture range – while out on a clicking spree at night, make sure that your camera lens has a high aperture range as the light is rally low and you would need an exceptionally high lens opening to get the right exposure.
Carry a flash gun- since sun, the natural light source is absent at night, it is always advisable to carry a flash gun with you to throw light in situations where there are no external light sources.
