Lighting with a constant light source as you have plenty of time to adjust to the conditions, but lighting with flash, which lasts only a few seconds, is more difficult. Getting the right exposure with flash is very difficult without a light meter.

While clicking with your digital camera you must have seen a scale blinking in your view finder. That is a reflected light meter. A reflected light meter is a kind of light measuring device that measures the amount of light reflected from the subject and entering the camera.

Photography can be classified into 3 major types i.e. Black and White photography, Colour photography and Digital photography. Out of these three, the Black and White photography is the oldest one.
