What would you do if you want half of your frame in focus and half of it without focus? Or if you wish to have half the frame in higher depth of field and the other half in lower depth?

Amateur photographers may not know if they will be able to recognise infrared photography. Remember all those photographs of punk rock artists and bands from the 60s which gave a very dreamy and milky feel?

Often when we are shooting with a coloured film, we come across a blue or red caste on your image. This may be due to incorrect white balance or when the lighting is not according to the standard day light.

We have known that if we wish to increase the contrast then we need to use contrast enhancement filters, and when we want to decrease the contrast we can use diffusion filters, but what do you do if you want to increase the tone of a particular colour in your frame?

As is obvious from the name, contrast filters are used to enhance colour contrasts in photographic images.

Ever if you are a beginning photographer you must be aware of what filters are and their various uses in photography. But for those who do not know, filters are camera accessories made up of glass that are used to get various coloured, black and white and focus effects, such as split focus, diffusion, colour correction and contrast reduction, in photography.

Sometimes having everything clear and in focus is not the right picture. So what do you do if you want to give a hazy glamorous feel to your picture? Well that’s when you look into using diffusion filters.

While framing shots you will have often come across a situation when the closer you get to an object, the more difficult it is to focus on it. After a certain distance, if you get any closer, then no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to focus on the subject.
