A mid-range webcam, Logitech QuickCam E3500 allows the user to make video calls without installing software. You can capture photos at 1.3-mega pixel resolution and enjoy great-looking images even in dim light due to its exclusive RightLight technology. Capable of performing its basic function well, the webcam from the accessory specialists at Logitech also offers a decent assortment of effects and features. Looks-wise the E 3500 has a prominent spherical head and in-built monitor clip and looks like every other webcam in the market. A manual focus ring and a top-mounted snapshot button are its other in-built features. Though marketed as a plug-and-play webcam, it does require a lengthy software installation before the user can access any features. Once set up, the Quickcam programme allows the user to quickly adjust video/audio effects, preferences and settings via an unobtrusive, column-sized window.
Its unique RightLight technology produces improved image clarity while its RightSound technology ensures crystal clear conversations without annoying background noise. An average performer in terms of video quality, the E 3500 sports a 1.3-mega pixel sensor that can capture video up to a resolution of 640×480 and the Logitech QuickCam E3500 can also capture still images at 1280×960 pixels. Its image quality is as good as an inbuilt notebook webcam. The colours are sharp and accurate in bright environments, but not so bright and vibrant in low light conditions. As for the audio, its inbuilt microphone can filter out background noise well. All in all, E 3500 is a good webcam that is compatible with all major instant messaging programmes.
